Regional Level
Value Chains and Intermediary Organisations
At the regional level, ITC is responsible for the implementation of the Output 1.3 “Better regional linkages among selected value chain actors are promoted and key regional intermediary organizations are supported.”
Quality infrastructure
At the regional level, UNIDO is responsible for the implementation of Output 1.4. “Strengthening of Regional quality infrastructure system, with a view to promoting environmental issues”.
Regional Policy Framework
ITC and UNIDO will jointly be involved in harmonizing, formulating and monitoring regional policy and framework to improve industrial competitiveness among West African countries.
Programme Management
The main focus of this output is to strengthen the capacity of ECOWAS Commission, UEMOA Commission and Member States to successfully manage, coordinate and monitor the program.
Competitiveness Observatory
The West Africa Competitiveness Programme provides support for the creation and operationalisation of a Competitiveness Observatory in West Africa. The establishment of the Competitiveness Observatory is part of the regional Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) concluded between West Africa and the EU with the aim of making available reference indicators on the level of implementation of the provisions under the EPA and the evolution of competitiveness in West Africa, to monitor different parameters of this competitiveness and to guide priority support for improvement.
