Cote d’Ivoire is a tropical agricultural county with fertile soil, favourable climate and other resources which provides the necessary conditions for the cultivation of tropical fruits. Cote d’Ivoire has a wide range of premium tropical fruits. Although planted by lower quantity, tropical fruits are often planted by small scale farmers, it generates income for the farmers in the bottom of the pyramid, commonly found in the rural areas. Significant Investment in tropical fruits sector of Cote d’Ivoire is one of the priority sectors by the National Export Strategy. This sector was selected on the basis of its export potential, combined with competitiveness criteria and socio-economic impact including job creation for both women and youths.
