In an effort to build synergy among country components and programmes, a series of meetings were held between regional and national implementing partners. On the 3rd of May 2019, the UNIDO Technical Coordination Unit Team participated in the launching of the Nigerian Competitive Project (NICOP) held in Abuja. During this event, project organization and value chains to be supported were presented.
The project is implemented by GIZ under WACOMP and will support Tomato, Ginger, Leather, and garments as priority value chains for Nigeria.
Also, on the 6th, 26th and 27th September 2019, the PMU at UNIDO headquarters organized coordination meetings with managers of the WACOMP national components for Ghana, Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry with the objective of establishing effective coordination between the national components and regional component.
