The West African Accreditation System (SOAC) was accepted on April 25, 2022, as a signatory member of the African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC). This recognition concerns testing laboratories (ISO IEC 17025), calibration laboratories (ISO IEC 17025) and medical laboratories (ISO 15189).
A few days later, on May 14, 2022, SOAC has signed the mutual recognition agreements of the International Laboratory Cooperation (ILAC), based on the AFRAC decision.
This milestone was disseminated widely in the sub-region through a SOAC-UEMOA joint press release signed by Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, the President of the UEMOA Commission, that presented its impacts, specifically for citizens and enterprises.
