PRE-SELECTION OF PILOT COMPANIES TO BE SUPPORTED FOR THE APPLICATION OF THE REGIONAL MARK OF COMPLIANCE WITH ECOWAS STANDARDS (ECOQMARK) ON WACOMP PRIORITY PRODUCTS

In the framework of the implementation of the West Africa Competitiveness Programme, funded by the European Union, led by the ECOWAS Commission and partly implemented by UNIDO, we are inviting companies producing dried mango, mango juice/nectar, starch, gari or barrier masks and eager to affix the ECOWAS Regional Conformity Mark (ECOQMARK) on their products to apply using the link below.
Following an evaluation, the selected pilot companies will receive technical assistance for the certification of their products using ECOQMARK. Below are the criteria for pre-selecting the pilot companies:
- Producing products such as dried mango, mango juice/nectar, starch, gari or barrier masks;
- Having already benefited from WACOMP support at National and Regional level, including having participated in at least one of the two editions of the West Africa Connect Event, is an asset
- Legal existence in one of the ECOWAS Member States or Mauritania;
- Experience of at least 3 years in the production of dried mango, mango juice/nectar, starch, gari or barrier masks;
- Exporting dried mango, mango juice/nectar, starch, gari or barrier masks;
- Capacity to export dried mango, mango juice/nectar, starch, gari or barrier masks;
- Existence of a quality system (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, …) or being implemented;
- Budgeting of quality implementation and quality projects;
- Existence of a sustainability governance policy;
- Proportion of women employed in the company;
- Proportion of young people under 35 employed in the enterprise.
