The West Africa Competitiveness Programme has 1 regional Programme and 16 National Components, funded by the European Union and implemented with the support of Technical Partners.
In Sierra Leone, the International Trade Center (ITC) supports the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in the WACOMP implementation at national level and support the country’s integration into regional and international trade systems.
Based on the region’s industrialisation priorities, the programme targets three specific value chains, which are cassava, palm oil and cocoa value chains at national level. WACOMP Sierra Leone aims to increase the competitiveness of small businesses within the selected value chains by strengthening and improving the delivery services MSMEs receive from institutions.
In this regard, ITC plans to organise a training for MSMEs on the targeted sectors in order to strengthen their capacities on Access to Finance.
Small enterprises and agribusinesses in the cassava, cocoa and palm oil sectors are invited to pitch their expressions of interest for assistance to raise capital and grow business opportunities through the WACOMP Sierra Leone programme.
