The West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP), funded by the European Union (EU), aims to stimulate the competitiveness of SMEs in 16 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo). The WACOMP is implemented at the regional level with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the International Trade Center (ITC), and at the national level in each of the ECOWAS Member States and Mauritania by several implementing agencies.
As part of WACOMP Project, a regional PPP online platform is being established to monitor and share relevant data on public-private partnerships (PPPs) in West Africa.
The purpose of this survey is to understand the problems experienced by stakeholders across the ECOWAS region with the implementation of PPPs in their countries. Understanding the key issues faced will allow legislators to adjust regulations to simplify the process and for implementers to learn from the experiences of others. The survey results will be incorporated into the online database and will, therefore, be available to all PPP stakeholders in the ECOWAS region in the future.
